Selling gold or silver should not feel confusing or uncomfortable. At ANDOCO Purveyors, we explain the process, test your items in front of you whenever possible, and provide a clear offer based on the precious-metal content and current market value.
There is no pressure to sell. You are welcome to ask questions, review the offer, and make the decision that is right for you.
Bring the gold, silver, coins, jewelry, or other precious-metal items you would like us to evaluate. Items do not need to be cleaned, polished, sorted, or repaired before your visit.
We purchase many types of items, including:
Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID. State law may require us to record certain information when purchasing precious metals from the public.
We begin by separating your items by metal type and purity. Hallmarks such as 10K, 14K, 18K, 925, sterling, or coin markings give us a starting point, but markings alone do not always confirm that an item is genuine.
We inspect each item carefully and determine whether it should be valued for its precious-metal content, coin value, collectible appeal, or resale potential.
Your items are weighed using a calibrated scale. Gold and silver are normally grouped by purity because 10K gold, 14K gold, sterling silver, and pure bullion each contain different amounts of precious metal.
Stones, watch movements, non-metal parts, and other materials may be excluded from the payable weight when appropriate. Due to the recent flood of lab-grown and synthetic stones, stones which are not accompanied by a GIA certificate of authenticity are simply included in the weight of the jewelry. Stones can be removed at the customer's request, but there will be an additional $10 fee, and ANDOCO will not be responsible for any damages to the stone during the removal process.
Depending on the item, we may use several testing methods, including:
Some testing methods may require a small scratch in an inconspicuous area and in some cases more aggressive metal filing or core drilling. We will explain the test and get your permission before performing it.
Our offer is based on several factors:
While most items are purchased as scrap with the intent of refining. Certain coins, designer jewelry, watches, and estate pieces may be worth more than their basic metal value. We evaluate those items individually whenever there may be additional value.
After the evaluation is complete, we explain what we found and provide an offer. You may sell all of your items, sell only selected pieces, or decline the offer.
There is no obligation to sell and no charge for a standard purchase evaluation.
When you accept the offer, we complete the required purchase paperwork, provide you with a receipt, and issue payment using the payment method available for the transaction.
The amount of time required depends on the number and type of items being evaluated. A small group of jewelry may take only a short time, while a large coin collection, estate, or mixed lot may require a more detailed review.
You can expect a private, professional, and straightforward experience. We understand that many customers are selling items connected to an inheritance, estate, financial need, or personal memory. We treat every customer and every item with respect.
We will never intentionally rush you through the process or pressure you into accepting an offer. Our goal is for you to understand what you have, how it was evaluated, and how we arrived at the offer.
To help make the process easier:
Cleaning a coin can permanently reduce its collector value. When in doubt, bring it in exactly as you found it.
Many buyers look only at weight and metal content. At ANDOCO Purveyors, we also consider whether an item has value as a coin, collectible, piece of estate jewelry, designer item, or historical object. That additional review can make an important difference, particularly with older coins, signed jewelry, vintage watches, and inherited collections.
